Stanley R. Wachs, Ph.D., is a management and organization consultant who works with individuals and groups in conflict resolution, problem solving, and decision making. He is the founder of Wachs Associates, a management consulting and training practice in Los Angeles.

For the past twenty-five years, Dr. Wachs has worked with executives and managers in industrial, service, healthcare and governmental organizations. His clients include Kaiser Permanente, The United States Air Force Reserve, Transamerica Life Companies, Los Angeles Fire Department, Inc. Magazine, Xerox, Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation, TRW, British Airports Authority, Cedars-Sinai Health System, Medical Group Management Association, Jostens, Groupe Danone, The U. S. Department of the Interior, and The Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Management.

As a presenter, Dr. Wachs is skillful, stimulating, dynamic, and entertaining. He has an unusual ability to get people involved in learning activities and to get groups and individuals to apply practical theory to real–work situations.

As a consultant, he is forthright, direct and supportive. He gets people to face up to difficult work issues – with their customers, with their colleagues, and with their employees. He challenges individuals to look at and change the ways they limit themselves and their organizations. Those who work with him come away not only with new skills and practical knowledge, but also with the commitment to act on their new learning.

Earlier in his career, as a university professor, Dr. Wachs taught science, education, and organizational behavior. He holds a B.S. from Queens College, a M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts and a Ph.D. from New York University. He has been on the faculty of The American College of Physician Executives and is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
